About Me
As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to delivering high-quality care to every patient who walks through our doors. My guiding principle is to consistently provide the same level of excellent care that I would want and expect for my own family. I appreciate that being a patient in the emergency department can be a daunting experience, often unplanned and frightening. My goal is to make these experiences less intimidating and to empower patients to play an integral role in their health decisions through clear communication and confident, expedient, and decisive care.
I specialize in the rapid identification and stabilization of acute and life-threatening conditions in patients of all ages. My expertise and skills includes but are not limited to evaluation and resuscitation of adult and pediatric patients, emergency airway management, management of emergency conditions such as strokes and ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), caring for traumatically injured patients and patients with sepsis, performing diagnostic tests including point of care ultrasound and lumbar punctures, wound care including suturing, managing obstetrical emergencies including precipitous baby deliveries and eclampsia, and coordinating patient care across multiple specialties.
Throughout my career, I have been passionate about proactive healthcare engagement and community service. I served as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician [EMT] and firefighter during high school and college, and I continue to find fulfillment as an Emergency Medical Service [EMS] and fire department medical director for multiple agencies. As an avid traveler to locales such as sub-Sarahan Africa, the Andes mountains of Peru, and the coral reefs of the South Pacific, I find comfort and confidence knowing that I can lend aid and provide medical care in resource limited environments should the need arise. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to being prepared and responsive in any situation.
My journey into medicine began at a young age, inspired by my early volunteer experiences in the emergency department and as an EMT and firefighter. I pursued my medical education at Stony Brook University and the NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, where I was fortunate to have strong mentors who solidified my decision to specialize in emergency medicine. As a faculty member at the NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine, I am proud to be part of an academic medical center that is a Level I trauma center, ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) center, and comprehensive stroke center.
