Devin Mann, MD

As a Professor of Population Health and Medicine, my research leverages my experience and expertise in digital health, remote patient monitoring, artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced clinical decision support to promote a learning health system and the delivery of effective healthcare. As Founding Director of the HiBRID (Healthcare Innovations Bridging Research Informatics and Design) Lab, I lead an extraordinary group of research faculty using research, informatics and design methods to build, implement, and disseminate new digital tools to improve the delivery and experience of healthcare. Our faculty, students and staff lead a portfolio of federally funded studies examining how to leverage digital health tools to improve the experience of giving and receiving care.  Our work seeks to develop and evaluate approaches for tightening the connection of health at home and in the office, using mobile technologies improve communication, deploy AI to support high quality care and optimize the electronic health record to promote evidence-based care while reducing clinician burden.  Methodological themes across our work include user centered, iterative design methods, AI, implementation science and applied health informatics.   

As the Strategic Director of Digital Health Innovation within the MCIT Department of Health Informatics at NYU Langone Health I have a unique hybrid lens at the intersection of research and operations; a perspective that helps ensure pragmatic workflow integration and clinical adoption of novel digital tools across the enterprise. Towards this goal, I am Director of the Division of Digital Health Innovation within the MCIT Department of Health Informatics leading enterprise initiatives in remote patient monitoring and AI assisted clinical workflows.  I am also Director of NYU Langone's FuturePractice, an internal technology innovation team of innovation managers, UX designers and technologists to accelerate the pace of digital health innovation exploration, development and deployment across the health system.
