Nayoung Lee, MD

I was born in South Korea and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia and Boxborough, Massachusetts. While in medical school, I was drawn to the specialty of dermatology. I developed a particular interest in skin cancer after participating in basic science research on Merkel cell carcinoma and melanoma.

During my dermatology residency, I had the privilege of caring for people who had skin cancer, many with aggressive and advanced lesions. This experience led me to pursue a fellowship in Mohs surgery, a procedure to treat skin cancer, and dermatologic oncology. In addition to developing an expertise in Mohs surgery and reconstructive techniques, I gained proficiency in cosmetic procedures, such as botulinum toxin, fillers, and the latest energy-based devices, such as lasers and intense pulsed light tools.

At NYU Langone, I provide patients with a variety of care, including skin cancer screening exams, Mohs surgery, and noninvasive and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. When I work with patients, I assess the person as a whole to develop an individualized treatment plan and achieve the best possible outcomes.
