Ashika Jain, MD

As a clinical associate professor in the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine at NYU Langone, I am deeply committed to advancing the field of emergency medicine through education, research, and clinical practice. My passion lies in providing high-quality, patient–centered care, particularly in trauma and critical care settings. I find immense satisfaction in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of emergency medicine, where every decision can make a significant impact on patient outcomes.

I specialize in emergency medicine, trauma care, and critical care, with a particular focus on emergency ultrasound. In my former role as director of emergency trauma at NYU Langone, I successfully established a centralized resource for trauma care that continues to be utilized, enhancing both patient outcomes and the educational experience for our residents.

I have worked closely with the Division of Emergency Medicine Simulation to create a comprehensive, multidisciplinary in-situ trauma simulation curriculum. This program has been instrumental in enhancing the skills of emergency medicine residents, surgery residents, and emergency nursing staff at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn and Bellevue. Additionally, I developed the geriatric activation protocol, which has been adopted across the NYU Langone system, ensuring consistent and high-quality geriatric trauma care.

My journey into emergency medicine was inspired by a desire to make a tangible difference in critical moments. I pursued my medical education with a focus on emergency and trauma care, driven by the intensity and immediacy of the field. My commitment to education, research, and clinical excellence continues to fuel my work at NYU Langone, where I strive to improve patient outcomes and advance the practice of emergency medicine.
