Swati Deshmukh, MD

As a radiologist at NYU Langone, I provide precise and accurate diagnostic imaging to support patient care. My passion for radiology stems from the unique ability to diagnose and guide treatment through medical imaging, often without direct patient interaction.

I specialize in musculoskeletal radiology, focusing on the imaging of soft tissue, bones, and joints. With extensive training in diagnostic imaging techniques such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT) scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), I am well-equipped to assist in the accurate diagnosis of various conditions. Since joining the Department of Radiology at NYU Langone in 2024, I have been committed to leveraging my expertise to enhance patient outcomes. My research is centered on using MRI to study small nerves throughout the body, contributing to advances in diagnostic imaging.

Throughout my career, I have focused on proactive healthcare engagement, emphasizing the importance of accurate diagnosis and timely intervention. My work involves closely collaborating with referring doctors, ensuring that patients are correctly diagnosed and receive the appropriate care for their needs. This partnership and responsiveness are key to fostering a positive patient experience and achieving the best health outcomes.

My journey into radiology began during medical school, where I was fascinated by the field's potential to diagnose and treat conditions through imaging. Inspired by the role of radiologists as “the doctor’s doctor,” I pursued a career in this specialty to help other physicians accurately diagnose patient conditions. My educational background and dedication to research have equipped me with the skills necessary to excel in this field, and I am proud to be part of the NYU Langone team, where coordinated care is a top priority.
