About Me
From a young age, I enjoyed the intellectual stimulation of biological science. I decided to pursue a career in medicine to learn more about the complexity of the human body. I always viewed medicine as more than just a profession—it provides the opportunity to help people during difficult times in their lives and stand as a source of support.
I chose to specialize in pulmonary medicine because it offers the opportunity for continuity of care in treating patients with chronic lung disease and diagnostic challenges. I also enjoy the challenges critical care presents of solving complex problems and healing patients who have a variety of illnesses. Sleep medicine fascinates me because many sleep problems are related to breathing.
As part of NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island and our pulmonary care team, I treat patients with lung problems, including cough, shortness of breath, and advanced lung diseases. I perform bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound with biopsy, pleural fluid drainage, and critical care procedures. We also have a multidisciplinary sleep medicine center, where the advanced level of care includes continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines, an advanced sleep lab, and close follow-up care.
I encourage my patients to be actively involved in their care and rally for family support when making complex decisions. Through a partnership between the patient, the patient’s family, and myself, we can make important treatment decisions for excellent outcomes.
In addition to serving as a physician, I am also involved in medical education and research.
