As a clinical child psychologist at the Child Study Center, part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing compassionate care for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and disruptive behavior disorders. My approach is holistic, focusing on children and the broader systems that influence their development, such as caregivers and educators. I find it incredibly rewarding to see the positive changes in children and their families as they implement practical strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
My work includes behavioral parent training, which equips parents with practical skills to manage challenging behaviors while strengthening the parent–child relationship. Additionally, I lead parenting groups, offer individual family sessions, and consult with schools to identify effective classroom strategies. I have also developed a parenting framework that teaches caregivers how to manage emotional dysregulation and tantrums, providing clear, actionable tools for navigating complex parenting moments.
With more than two decades of experience in the field, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice. My career began in 2001, and since then, I have been passionate about understanding and treating patients with ADHD. I am committed to training the next generation of mental health professionals, teaching and supervising graduate trainees in psychology and psychiatry. I also co-developed Twentysomething, an undergraduate course in NYU’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies (CAMS) program, which explores developmental and mental health challenges in young adulthood.
My educational journey began with a deep interest in psychology, which led me to pursue a doctor of philosophy degree in clinical child psychology. Throughout my career, I have been actively engaged in public education through media and outreach. I co-host “About Our Kids,” on SiriusXM Doctor Radio, and have appeared on national programs such as ABC’s “20/20” and CBS Mornings. I was also featured as an expert in the award-winning ADHD documentary “The Disruptors.” My goal is to make mental health information accessible, accurate, and genuinely helpful for families and communities.
