Olivia R. Khouri, MD

Despite coming from a long line of doctors, I only realized my calling after taking a course in women’s health during my senior year of college. From that moment on, I have devoted myself to becoming a doctor and to taking care of women’s unique health needs.

My goal as a gynecologic oncologist is to educate and partner with my patients to choose the best course of action for their health. I support women and their families during some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. It is my privilege to guide them during this process with warmth and compassion, as well as medical and surgical expertise.

I manage precancerous and cancerous conditions of the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, cervix, vagina, and vulva. I also see people who have a genetic predisposition for gynecologic cancer, including cancer associated with BRCA mutations and Lynch syndrome, also known as hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer, or HNPCC.

I specialize in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic-assisted surgery and sentinel lymph node biopsy. I perform fertility-sparing surgery as well as radical hysterectomy and ovarian cancer debulking.
 
At NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, I work with a team of doctors to provide excellent, top-rated, personalized cancer care. Being part of a large health system allows us to offer our patients advanced treatment and access to clinical trials.

I am excited to continue improving gynecologic cancer care and prevention through my research into cancer genetics and immunotherapy. I also have an interest in educating the next generation of doctors about gynecologic oncology and have received multiple awards for my work with medical students.
