About Me
As a psychologist at the Child Study Center, part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to fostering mental wellness in children, adolescents, emerging adults, parents, and families.
My approach to care is deeply rooted in my academic background in developmental science, in which I explore the intricate connections between biological, psychological, and socio-cultural factors that shape individual health outcomes. I believe in the power of working not just with individuals but also with their families and communities, creating a holistic support system that is crucial for mental healthcare. Practicing at the Child Study Center allows me to engage at multiple levels, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate care.
I specialize in addressing anxiety and mood disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and associated risk behaviors such as substance use. My training includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and third-wave therapies, which I integrate to offer both change- and acceptance-based approaches tailored to each client's needs. For couples, I use cognitive behavioral couple therapy (CBCT) to foster healthier relationships. My work with parents and families often involves behavioral parent training (BPT) to manage child behavioral concerns and organizational skills training (OST) to improve academic and time-management skills. I am also trained in community reinforcement and family training (CRAFT), a family-based approach to support loved ones dealing with substance use.
My journey into psychology was inspired by a profound interest in understanding human development and the factors that influence mental health. I pursued my PhD to delve deeper into these areas, driven by a passion for helping children and families navigate their mental health journeys. My dual roles as a clinician and researcher allow me to stay at the forefront of scientific advancements while applying practical insights to my practice. At NYU Langone, I am privileged to collaborate with a dedicated team, ensuring coordinated care for our patients. I am committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those I serve, fostering resilience and wellbeing in every individual and family.
