Joann Titelis, MD

As an obstetrician-gynecologist at Sunset Park Family Health Center at NYU Langone- 55th Street, I am dedicated to providing compassionate care to my patients. I believe in taking the time to get to know patients personally, ensuring they receive the same level of care I would want for my own family.

My approach to patient care is rooted in empathy and a deep commitment to supporting women through all stages of their reproductive health. I specialize in labor and delivery, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency gynecological procedures. My expertise extends to managing high-risk pregnancies and labor management, ensuring both mother and baby receive the best possible care. I am particularly passionate about serving a vibrant patient population, including patients of all sexual orientations, and strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all.

My journey into medicine was inspired by my father's encouragement and my lifelong passion for the sciences. He often reminded me of the importance of food and medicine, as people always need to eat and always need a doctor. This early influence, combined with my desire to help others, led me to pursue a career in obstetrics and gynecology.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of practicing medicine in various countries, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, and New Zealand. These experiences have enriched my understanding of global health and reinforced my dedication to helping women worldwide. My background in missionary work and public health has shaped my approach to patient care, emphasizing the importance of compassion and cultural sensitivity.
