Kevin Kresofsky, MD

As a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at NYU Langone, I see my role as more than just a physician—I am a partner in your journey towards improved wellbeing. My philosophy of care is simple yet profound, I treat every patient as if they were a family member. This approach allows me to connect deeply with my patients, helping them regain their confidence and improve their quality of life.

My expertise lies in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. In cosmetic surgery, I primarily focus on enhancements to the face, neck, arms, breasts, abdomen, and thighs. This includes procedures such as brow lifts, facelifts, and breast augmentations. In reconstructive surgery, I work with patients diagnosed with conditions like skin cancers, breast cancer, and trauma. I offer a range of treatments including micrographically oriented histographic surgery (MOHS) reconstruction, a procedure to remove skin cancer, and free tissue transfer, a method to move healthy tissue from one part of the body to another.

Throughout my career, I have been inspired by the transformative power of plastic and reconstructive surgery. One of my most memorable cases involved a young girl who had experienced a severe dog attack. Our team was able to perform a functional muscle transfer—a procedure that restored her ability to flex her arm. It's experiences like these that remind me of why I chose this profession.

My journey into medicine began late in my undergraduate studies. Initially drawn to the sciences, I contemplated careers as a forensic scientist and a pharmacist. However, I soon realized my true calling was in medicine, where I could work directly with people. The field of plastic and reconstructive surgery appealed to me due to the mindfulness of the surgeons, who consider every aspect of patient care, from consultation to postoperative visits.

Being a part of NYU Langone allows me to collaborate with a team of talented, mindful, and empathetic professionals. We are committed to providing the best possible care to our patients, from the initial consultation through the operation and into the post-operative phase. The most fulfilling aspect of my job is the connection I make with my patients and the trust they place in me.
