About Me
As a clinical psychologist at NYU Langone, I provide nonjudgmental and culturally sensitive psychological care to medical students and house staff through the Mental Health Services for Medical Students. My passion for understanding human behavior began in my childhood, growing up in various foreign countries. This unique upbringing allowed me to become a keen observer of non-verbal communication, which has greatly influenced my approach to psychology. I find immense fulfillment in helping others navigate their mental health journeys and fostering a supportive environment for my clients.
I specialize in treating a wide range of psychological issues, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, emotion dysregulation, body image concerns, and relationship distress. With extensive training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT), I tailor my treatment plans to meet the unique needs of the individual.
My educational journey began with a deep-seated interest in human behavior, inspired by my multicultural upbringing. My credentials include a masterβs in counseling, and a doctorate in clinical psychology. I pursued these degrees to equip myself with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a meaningful impact in the field of psychology.
Throughout my career, I have worked with DBT teams at major medical institutions. I completed my fellowship in eating disorders, where I gained experience across all levels of care and supervised psychology trainees. I have also had an opportunity to present my research on eating disorders nationally.
At NYU Langone, I collaborate with psychiatrists to provide comprehensive and coordinated care. I also offer workshops and talks on mental health issues for medical students and residents, emphasizing the importance of mental wellbeing in the medical profession.
