Stephen J. Simon, D.O.

My path to becoming an emergency medicine specialist began in 2005 as a volunteer firefighter in my hometown of Merrick, NY. I discovered a love of emergency response that led me to become an EMT; I later become certified as an EMS instructor at Boston University where I also earned a Masters in Healthcare Emergency Management.  After deciding to pursue a career in medicine, the emergency room seemed an obvious fit, and I was accepted to the Emergency Medicine Residency program at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. After completing my training, I returned to Boston to complete a fellowship in Disaster Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, before returning home to NY and joining the team at NYU Langone.

In my role at NYU Langone, I treat a variety of conditions and cater to patients across all age groups. The unpredictable nature and diversity of emergency medicine keep me constantly engaged, providing a fulfilling challenge. My extensive training and experience in healthcare emergency management enable me to handle any situation, ensuring optimal care for my patients.

I am privileged to work alongside a dedicated team of ER doctors at NYU Langone. Our shared dedication to our work and our patients translates into the high-quality care we provide. We are unwavering in our commitment to patient care, striving to provide comfort and compassion during their most challenging times. I am fortunate to be a member of this team, and proud to be in a position where I can connect with my patients and their families, providing them with the care and compassion they need during challenging times.
