About Me
As a clinical psychologist at the Child Study Center, part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and empowering environment for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. My passion for this field was ignited by my mother’s 30-year career as a special education teacher, where I volunteered and worked during my formative years. Witnessing her profound impact on her students inspired me to pursue a career in clinical psychology, with a focus on neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism spectrum disorder.
I specialize in neurodevelopmental disorders because I am committed to providing support, education, and effective treatment from a neuroaffirming perspective. My extensive training in general psychology with children and adolescents allows me to address a wide range of presenting concerns, including co-occurring psychiatric conditions. With a PhD in clinical psychology and years of experience, I am well-equipped to support and treat individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, ensuring they receive comprehensive and personalized care.
At the Autism Spectrum Disorder Service within the Child Study Center, I conduct parent training, individual therapy, and group therapy using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other effective practices. I strive to tailor treatment to meet each patient’s unique needs and strengths, conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations to diagnose neurodevelopmental disorders. Additionally, I have a particular interest in supporting non-autistic siblings of autistic individuals, recognizing the importance of holistic family care.
Alongside my dedicated colleagues on the Autism Service, I am enthusiastic about providing education and community outreach through the New York City Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders. My commitment extends beyond clinical care to educating future generations of mental health professionals. I teach undergraduate students at New York University and provide clinical supervision to psychology graduate externs, predoctoral psychology interns, and postdoctoral psychology fellows.
My journey into clinical psychology was profoundly influenced by my early experiences in special education, and I am honored to continue this work at NYU Langone. Together, we can create a supportive and inclusive environment for all individuals and their families.
