Miki Hirano, MD

As a breast radiologist at NYU Langone, I provide compassionate and comprehensive care to my patients. I specialize in breast imaging, which includes screening and diagnostic mammogram, breast ultrasound, and breast magnetic resonance imaging. My passion for breast imaging stems from my desire to support individuals through some of the most challenging times in their lives. I am dedicated to guiding my patients from initial screenings to diagnosis and treatment, ensuring they receive the best possible care at every step.

My expertise allows me to handle a variety of breast conditions, from benign findings to atypical results and breast cancer. With a fellowship in breast imaging from Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, I bring extensive training and experience to my role. Throughout my career, I have focused on proactive healthcare engagement, emphasizing the importance of early detection and timely intervention.

I am committed to being an active part of each patient’s journey, from the initial screening mammogram and discussing results in real-time to performing biopsies and follow-up imaging, with referrals to breast surgeons when necessary. My goal is to diagnose conditions early and guide patients on the correct path to treatment and recovery, fostering strong partnerships and responsiveness to their needs.

My educational journey began with a deep interest in medicine, which led me to pursue a career in breast imaging.
