As a clinical social worker at the Child Study Center, which is part of Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and young adults navigate mental health challenges. My passion lies in using interventions that empower vulnerable individuals, helping them build on their strengths, find their communities, and cope safely with life’s challenges. I believe in the inherent wisdom of every person and strive to help my patients move beyond perceived barriers to live in line with their values.

I specialize in treating anxiety and mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other conditions involving emotion dysregulation. As a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician, I primarily use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to support adolescents and young adults. In my role as the director of the NYU Child Study Center Adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program, I work specifically with teens and families struggling with suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, and other potentially life-threatening coping behaviors. With years of experience, I am committed to providing compassionate and effective care.

Throughout my career, I have focused on adapting interventions to work with marginalized communities, particularly LGBTQIA+ youth and adults. Using a minority-stress framework, I have tailored individual and group therapies to meet the unique healthcare needs of LGBTQIA+ individuals. My approach to care emphasizes honesty, autonomy, and building a real relationship between equals, ensuring that my patients feel respected and understood.

My journey into clinical social work was driven by a desire to help individuals overcome mental health challenges and build fulfilling lives. I pursued this path because of my commitment to using best practices to make a tangible difference in the lives of my patients. I am proud to have been recognized as Teacher of the Year by NYU Langone’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2021, reflecting my dedication to quality patient care and my passion for training the next generation of mental health professionals.
