Leo J. Shea, PhD

As a clinical neuropsychologist at NYU Langone, I specialize in treating patients with neurologic disorders and tick-borne illnesses. My expertise extends to legal/forensic matters, along with organizational consulting.

With bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, I offer a comprehensive approach to treatment, encompassing cognitive remediation, psychotherapy, and family and spousal therapies. My extensive educational background includes master's degrees in counseling psychology, Hispanic pastoral ministry, and clinical psychology, along with a dual specialty doctorate in clinical psychology and neuropsychology. I also hold certification in psychoanalytic approaches to organizational design.

Throughout my career, I have served in pivotal roles, including chairman of the National Research Fund for Tick-borne Disease and president of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. I also consult for various national and international entities, such as the United Nations Development Program.
