Research Summary

My research interest is in medical education with a focus on teaching with high fidelity simulation. I've developed simulation curricula for pediatric emergency medicine fellow, faculty and nurses, pediatric and emergency medicine residents and medical students. I provide simulation sessions in the simulation center (NYSIM) and in clinical settings (NYU Pediatric ED, Bellevue Pediatric ED Trauma Slot). I've written a free ebook that contains 50 comprehensive pediatric emergency medicine focused simulation cases that can be used with a variety of learning and settings. 

I am the also co-developer of the scholarly activity curriculum for the pediatric emergency medicine fellows. I teach research design, biostatistics and critical appraisal of the medical literature. I oversee monthly journal club sessions for the emergency medicine residency program and the pediatric emergency medicine residency program. I am the co-developer and host institution for the annual New York City Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellow Teaching Evidence based medicine course and an annual faculty member of the pediatric resident evidence based medicine course. I am the editor and writer of the PEM CARS (Pediatric Emergency Medicine Critical Articles Reviews) ebook. This ebook contains over 30o comprehensive reviews of the pediatric emergency medicine literature and is update with new reviews annually. 

As the director of education for the division of pediatric emergency medicine, I oversee the educational efforts of out division including pediatric emergency medicine faculty and fellows, pediatric and emergency medicine residents, medical students, nurse, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. I am the editor of PEM Guides a handbook of pediatric emergency medicine in ebook format that is edited annually
