NYU Lutheran Medical Center, part of NYU Langone Health System, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bret Rudy, MD, to the senior leadership team as chief medical officer. Dr. Rudy will help to enhance NYU Lutheran’s already exceptional care, by focusing on patient outcomes, community health, and maximizing proven best practices.
“I am very excited to join NYU Lutheran and to serve Brooklyn residents,” said Dr. Rudy.
Dr. Rudy, a longtime member of the NYU Langone community, is a board certified pediatrician focused on issues related to HIV in adolescents and young adults. In his previous role as vice chair of NYU Langone Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Rudy helped staff achieve the highest standards of safety and accountability; NYU Langone received the number one distinction two years in a row among 104 leading academic medical centers across the nation that were included in the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) Quality and Accountability Study.
Dr. Rudy led numerous strategic initiatives, including the development of a hospitalist program and expansion of quality initiatives for children’s services, and earlier this year, he also helped to expand subspecialty services in pediatric care at NYU Lutheran.
He will officially assume his role at NYU Lutheran this summer.
