David Lat, 44 years old, is now out of the hospital and in recovery after a nearly month-long battle with 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19). David was hospitalized at NYU Langone, placed on a ventilator, and put on an experimental drug regimen to try to save his life.

“I’m glad to be on the road to recovery,” David tells TODAY.

He is now giving back, donating his plasma to NYU Langone as part of a study to help find an effective treatment for COVID-19.
