Metastatic prostate cancer can be a scary diagnosis, but treatment options are increasing. Now, newer medications are being added to the current standard of care, androgen deprivation therapy, to help boost impact and delay progression of the cancer.
David R. Wise, MD, PhD, assistant professor of urology and medicine, Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, spoke with SurvivorNet about the latest updates in this disease. Even though Dr. Wise says we’re not at the point where we can give one treatment and the cancer is gone, “the treatment for metastatic prostate cancer has dramatically improved over the past 10 years.”
