Doctors at West Palm Beach Ambulatory Practice Begin Treating Patients December 4
Next week, NYU Langone Health will further expand its award-winning clinical care network in Southeast Florida, opening a multispecialty ambulatory practice in West Palm Beach called NYU Langone Medical Associates—West Palm Beach. The new location will provide primary and cardiology care, and in many cases can offer same day appointments.
Doctors at NYU Langone Medical Associates—West Palm Beach will treat a variety of ailments, including allergies, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and high cholesterol, infections, and pulmonary conditions, and will also offer travel medicine and vaccinations.
Cardiology care at the West Palm Beach location will be provided by specialists from NYU Langone’s established practice, NYU Langone Cardiology Associates—Delray Beach. Echocardiography, vascular, and stress studies are available at NYU Langone Medical Associates—West Palm Beach.
“NYU Langone’s first Florida location in Delray Beach has been enthusiastically embraced by the community,” says Andrew Rubin, vice president for clinical affairs and ambulatory care at NYU Langone. “For this reason, we are extremely excited to introduce a second Florida practice in West Palm Beach to provide high-quality and personalized care to an even greater number of our patients who reside in Florida.”
The newly established and renovated location, at 101 North Clematis, spans approximately 6,500 square feet, featuring 14 modern exam rooms and artwork by a local artist throughout.
“Every detail of this new ambulatory care center has been thoughtfully designed to ensure that it is consistent with our other locations across the NYU Langone health system, while at the same time drawing inspiration from the Florida community,” says Vicki Match Suna, AIA, senior vice president and vice dean for Real Estate Development and Facilities at NYU Langone. “For example, we’ve enhanced the spaces with engaging artwork in partnership with local artist Mary Ellen Scherl, creating a welcoming, healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.”
NYU Langone Medical Associates—West Palm Beach will be staffed by two full-time internal medicine physicians who recently relocated from the Northeast. Thomas Rockland, MD, who treats patients as young as 12 years old, has been in practice for more than 20 years. Most recently, Dr. Rockland was affiliated with UConn Health. He is joined by David P. Selzer, MD, who completed his residency in internal medicine at Westchester Medical Center in 2015 and a fellowship in nephrology at Lenox Hill Hospital earlier this year.
To ensure a convenient experience, complimentary valet vouchers will be provided for patients and visitors visiting this Downtown West Palm Beach location. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, a coffee bar, and light refreshments.
Both NYU Langone Health Florida locations are virtually connected to each other as well as to the larger NYU Langone health system via Epic, its electronic health record system. Epic allows physicians to receive up-to-date medical records and test results, and enables patients to manage appointments, communicate with physicians, and remotely refill prescriptions through Epic’s patient portal, MyChart at NYU Langone Health.
Since 2011, NYU Langone has grown its ambulatory care network to more than 230 locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Staten Island, Hudson Valley—and now the Sunshine State. It has maintained its position as a national leader in the highest quality outpatient care. In 2017, NYU Langone received the Ambulatory Care Quality and Accountability Award from Vizient, Inc. for the third year in a row.
