The Construction Broadsheet (2/26) reports, “NYU Langone Health said it plans to build a new Florida ambulatory facility, a project made possible by a $75 million donation from the Julia Koch Family Foundation.” Ken Langone, chair of the NYU Langone Board of Trustees said, “Palm Beach County is full of New Yorkers, many of whom now live there year-round.” Regarding a separate location in Garden City, NY, Vicki Match Suna, AIA, Executive Vice President and Vice Dean for Real Estate Development and Facilities, said, “The physical environment plays a powerful role in healing and overall wellbeing, and this informed every aspect of our holistic approach to designing and constructing this facility, both inside and out.”

The Washington Square (NY) News (2/27) reports, “The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded NYU’s Grossman School of Medicine over $1.6 million to support health care research.” An NYU Langone Health spokesperson told WSN the ‘funding will support a variety of research projects’ at Grossman.” Steve Ritea, senior director, Media Relations, NYU Langone Health said, “This important funding helps NYU Langone Health and the NYU Grossman School of Medicine continue to pioneer the medical breakthroughs that provide hope and healing for all.”
$1B Donation Makes New York Medical School Tuition Free and Transforms Students’ Lives. (AP)
The AP (2/27) reports, “Ruth Gottesman, a former professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the widow of a Wall Street investor, announced Monday that she is donating $1 billion to the school in the Bronx,” allowing four-year students to “immediately go tuition free, while everyone else will benefit in the fall.” Six years ago, “Ken Langone, chair of the NYU Langone Board of Trustees and Elaine Langone gave $100 million to the NYU Grossman School of Medicine that went to an endowment fund to make tuition free for all current and future medical students.” Last year, “the Langones gave $200 million to the NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine to endow a full-tuition scholarship program and guarantee free tuition for all medical students.”
