The New York Times (2/26) reports Ruth Gottesman, a “93-year-old widow of a Wall Street financier, has donated $1 billion to a Bronx medical school, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, with instructions that the gift be used to cover tuition for all students going forward.” The Times adds that NYU Langone Health “was renamed for Ken Langone, chair of the NYU Langone Board of Trustees, a co-founder of Home Depot,” who “donated hundreds of millions of dollars.”
The AP (2/26) reports that in 2018, NYU Grossman School of Medicine “announced that it would cover the tuition of all its students.”
