Exercise is good for children’s growing bodies and their minds. Cordelia W. Carter, MD, co-director of the Center for Young Athletes at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and clinical associate professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, explains to NBC Learn that exercise can be any time that you move your body.
Children should exercise at least an hour a day, so it’s important to find an activity that your child enjoys. “Kids who exercise or do physical activity do better in school,” says Dr. Carter.
