While it may seem natural to grab a soda and hot dog while cheering on your favorite sports team, a new study from NYU Langone Health shows just how interconnected the relationship between sports and unhealthy foods really is.
CNN spoke with Marie Bragg, PhD, assistant professor in NYU Langone’s Department of Population Health, about her research revealing that 76 percent of food products shown in sports organization sponsorship ads are unhealthy.
“There’s a unique dynamic between the sports organizations and food companies, and it’s hard to know who should take more responsibility for the problem or if both organizations should take equal responsibility,” Dr. Bragg says.
