Welcome to the

Spine Center

Our specialists offer personalized treatment approaches for a broad range of spinal disorders.

The Spine Center at NYU Langone’s Center for Musculoskeletal Care is home to one of the world’s largest treatment programs for spinal disorders. Our specialists provide treatment for a broad range of conditions affecting the spine, including:

Our spine physicians are internationally recognized leaders in the field, evaluating more than 5,000 patients annually and performing more than 2,000 surgical and interventional procedures a year. We work closely with neurologists, physiatrists, and radiologists to ensure the most accurate diagnosis of your condition.

If physical or occupational therapy is required, we collaborate with rehabilitation specialists as well.

Our Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment

Our patients benefit from our ability to offer same-day, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging at the Spine Center. This includes digital X-rays, MRI, and EOS—a high-resolution, low-dose radiation spinal imaging system with complex three-dimensional reconstruction capability.

We take a personalized and conservative approach to your treatment, though in certain situations, we may recommend surgery. If so, minimally invasive, outpatient surgery can often be performed at the NYU Langone Outpatient Surgery Center.

Outpatient procedures available include epidural, facet, and sacroiliac joint injections, as well as neurophysiologic monitoring, including electromyogram and nerve conduction velocity studies.

Our surgeons are also world-renowned for their expertise in performing challenging spinal reconstruction procedures. Their expertise extends to spinal deformity and flatback correction, as well as complex conditions requiring osteotomy, a procedure in which a section of the spinal bone is cut and removed to correct spinal alignment.

Another key component in our treatment of spine disorders includes NYU Langone’s Center for the Study and Treatment of Pain for the administration of nonsurgical therapies and pain medication. In people with severe back, neck, or leg pain, treatment may involve epidural injections delivered by interventional radiologists at our pain management treatment suites.
