Tobacco Cessation Program at Perlmutter Cancer Center
The Tobacco Cessation Program at NYU Langone’s Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center offers intensive counseling and treatment opportunities for our patients and community members who are current tobacco users or former users who are at risk of relapse.
Numerous studies have demonstrated that a combination of counseling and tobacco cessation medication is the most effective approach to treating nicotine dependence. We work with patients to determine which treatment is best for you, whether it involves nicotine replacement therapy or oral prescription medicines.
We can also refer you to support groups, individual counseling, and integrative health techniques such as hypnosis through NYU Langone’s other Tobacco Cessation Programs.
Our program includes:
- a 45-minute initial counseling session with follow-up visits or telephone counseling as needed
- smoking cessation medication management, including prescription and over-the-counter options
- feedback reports to referring healthcare providers with a treatment plan and recommendations
- referrals to nonmedical options
To register, please call 646-754-1378. Our program is located at the Laura Perlmutter Center for Women’s Imaging at 221 Lexington Avenue.
