We offer full-service emergency care to the Brooklyn community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The NYU Langone Cobble Hill emergency department (ED) is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for walk-in visits and ambulances. Our team of board certified doctors, nurses, and support staff specializes in emergency medicine and can assist adults and children with urgent healthcare needs. Through high definition telemedicine, or video teleconferencing, various specialists from NYU Langone are also available for consultation.
We also offer advanced imaging services, a hospital satellite pharmacy that has oral and intravenous (IV) medications, and an on-site laboratory for rapid test results.
The vast majority of patients are treated and then discharged to their homes. For those who require hospital admission after receiving initial treatment, we have two ambulances available on-site to transfer you to one of several receiving hospitals in Brooklyn, including NYU Lutheran, NYU Langone’s affiliate, which has Level I trauma service.
Our Freestanding Emergency Department
NYU Langone Cobble Hill is a freestanding emergency department. This means our medical experts can diagnose and treat people with the types of emergencies typically seen in a hospital emergency room—including stroke and heart attack—but we’re not located within a hospital.
Our services are more comprehensive than those offered by a typical urgent care center, which usually does not have advanced imaging services or emergency trained nurses.
Future Outpatient Care
NYU Langone is bringing a wider range of healthcare services to Cobble Hill and neighboring communities. A 4-story, 125,000 square foot outpatient facility, owned and operated by NYU Langone, is scheduled to be completed by early 2018. When fully operational, our staff of 400 medical professionals will include at least 70 physicians.
NYU Langone Cobble Hill will have a new, state-of-the-art emergency department. It will also have primary and specialty care medical practices and a surgical suite for outpatient procedures. The new facility will include a full service satellite of NYU Langone’s Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center, including an infusion center and a clinical pharmacy. It will also offer an on-site clinical laboratory and pathology team, as well as a full range of imaging services.
