In-Room Services at the Hospital for Joint Diseases

During your stay at NYU Langone’s Hospital for Joint Diseases, we offer the following amenities to make your time with us as comfortable as possible.

Patient Meals

Freshly made meals are served daily. During your stay, you can choose from a variety of meals, including daily chef specials. There are also menu choices for vegetarians and people who keep kosher or have special dietary needs. A menu substitution list is also available.

The chef’s “Yummy Thursday Specials” are made especially for the children who are staying at the hospital.

Telephone and Television Services

Television service is available in all patient rooms at no cost and can be activated by calling 212-598-6394.

In-room telephone service is available for a fee. Customer service representatives are on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can call 212-598-6602 to set up service. You may also request a telephone amplifier, teletypewriter (TTY), or phone with large buttons free of charge.

You may use your personal cellular phone in all areas of the hospital except the operating room and the recovery room, also known as the post-anesthesia care unit or PACU.

Spa Services

Therapeutic massage, reflexology, and Reiki treatments can promote healing and ease stress. These services are performed by independent, licensed therapists and are available to patients for an additional fee. Ask your nurse for a list of approved practitioners and their contact information. Payment can be made by cash, check, or a gift certificate purchased from the gift shop

Before scheduling your appointment, please ask your physician or nurse practitioner to complete an approval slip certifying that you are healthy enough to enjoy spa services.
