We are at the forefront of diagnosing and managing post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and depression.
At NYU Langone’s Steven and Alexandra Cohen Veterans Center for the Study of Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury, our mission is to improve the detection and treatment of post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and depression, and lessen the burden of these conditions on veterans and active members of the military.
We conduct research to determine how to better diagnose post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and depression in veterans and active duty service members. Participation in this study does not include treatment. The results are used to improve the detection and treatment of combat-related mental health conditions, with the goal of improving care for future veterans.
Women are currently underrepresented in our research, and learning more about their military experience can help us tailor treatment and interventions for these veterans. We highly encourage the participation of female veterans in our studies.
