About Me

I specialize in medically supervised weight loss, weight management, and obesity. As part of the Weight Management Program at NYU Langone, I help people manage their weight through diet, exercise, behavioral changes, medications, and meal plans. From the oldest treatments to the most advanced solutions, all of the weight loss programs I offer are nonsurgical and made to fit a patient’s lifestyle.

I work closely with the patient every step of the way—from that initial meeting in my office, during which we discuss all the factors that may stop or slow weight loss, to the day when the patient arrives for an appointment looking livelier, weighing less, and feeling stronger, healthier, and more confident.

To make weight management easier, I created the New You™ program when I joined NYU Langone in 2012. This medically supervised meal replacement plan is often a solution for people looking for a routine they can incorporate into their lives to lose weight safely and effectively.

My current research focuses on gauging how much faster and healthier the New You program is in comparison to other weight management programs. Through data analysis, I’ve found that people in this program are not only managing their weight better, but are also improving health issues often associated with obesity, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

I once struggled with weight issues myself. I not only empathize and provide patients with compassionate care, but I sympathize and treat them with sensitivity. I understand the difficulty of adopting lifestyle changes to lose weight. My treatments are tailored to the patient, and I often refer patients to registered dietitians, physiologists, psychologists, and cognitive behavioral therapists to address all aspects of weight- and food-related issues.
