What Sets Us Apart

Pediatricians and nurses at Hassenfeld Children's Hospital of New York at NYU Langone are trained to identify and treat sepsis, a dangerous inflammatory condition that is triggered by an infection. Our team of experts has created an early warning system for sepsis in babies and children, so that treatment can begin before the onset of complications, such as septic shock and organ failure.

Our neonatal and pediatric intensive care units are staffed with experts who care for children with sepsis around the clock, seven days a week, monitoring their progress throughout treatment.

Treatment at NYU Langone

Our specialists provide swift and aggressive treatment for sepsis, using medication to manage the underlying infection and complications, such as septic shock. Some children may need additional therapy to reduce inflammation and to help with breathing and kidney function.
