First in an Ongoing Series of Phased Re-Openings After Hurricane Sandy
NYU Langone Medical Center has re-opened the Skirball building located at 530 First Avenue, which houses a variety of physician offices and the Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Medicine. This is the first in a series of ongoing phased re-openings on the main campus of NYU Langone after damage sustained during Hurricane Sandy. In addition to the Skirball building, the main lobby at the Medical Center is also open.
“We’re pleased we can bring so many of our researchers, physicians, scientists and other staff back to their original locations,” said Robert Grossman, MD, dean and CEO of NYU Langone Medical Center. “Though there is still much work to be done, the re-opening of Skirball represents a major step toward the full resumption of services on the main campus.”
The following physician offices will re-open in the Skirball building this week in their original locations. Patients can now reach their doctors through the doctors’ regular office telephone numbers.
- Cardiothoracic Surgery Associates
- Dermatology Associates (will open in Skirball building on Monday, Nov. 19)
- Gastroenterology Associates
- Neurosurgery Associates
- Orthopedics Associates
- Otolaryngology Associates
- Pathology Associates
- Pediatric Surgery Associates
- Radiology Associates
- Weight Management Program (Bariatrics)
Other physician offices remain at temporary locations.
