Healthcare Services at Women's Contemporary Care Associates
Our obstetricians and gynecologists at Women’s Contemporary Care Associates specialize in caring for women during pregnancy and providing the most advanced treatment possible for conditions that affect the female reproductive system.
Routine Gynecological Care
We also offer preventive care and medical treatment for adolescents and teenagers, including human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination to prevent cervical cancer, contraception consultation, and treatment for irregular menstrual disorders including polycystic ovary syndrome.
Our goal is to provide a customized pregnancy experience for all expecting mothers. We offer prenatal counseling, genetic counseling, and care after delivery.
We help you determine your pregnancy goals, including how to manage the early stages of labor, the type of pain control if you would like any, and your hopes for delivery.
When the time comes to have your baby, childbirth takes place at NYU Winthrop Hospital, where one of our board-certified obstetricians is always on staff to assist you and help ensure the best possible birth. NYU Winthrop Hospital is a New York State–designated Regional Perinatal Center equipped to provide the highest level of care for you and your baby during and after delivery.
We provide advanced care for pregnant women who are at high risk of pregnancy complications. This can include women who are pregnant with multiples as well as those who have diabetes, hypertension, clotting disorders, kidney disease, cervical abnormalities, or exposure to medications that could cause complications during pregnancy.
We provide the latest testing available to evaluate and monitor your baby’s health. This includes three-dimensional and four-dimensional ultrasounds to monitor your baby’s growth and amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and cordocentesis to test for chromosomal abnormalities and congenital anomalies. We also offer noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT), in which a blood test is used to detect certain chromosomal and genetic syndromes as early as 10 weeks of pregnancy.
We also provide testing and support for women who have a history of preterm labor, stillbirth, or recurrent pregnancy loss. We collaborate with women and their partners to try to determine the cause of prior complications, identify potential risks, and plan for a successful pregnancy.
Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
Our surgeons use minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic, robotic, vaginal, and mini-laparotomic, to treat many gynecologic conditions. The small incisions used during minimally invasive surgery result in reduced pain, less scarring, and faster healing than traditional open surgery.
Conditions we treat using minimally invasive surgical techniques include fibroids, adenomyosis, pelvic adhesions, abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, and benign cysts and tumors of the ovary. We also provide surgical care for endometriosis, and collaborate with our colleagues at the Advanced Endometriosis Center if you need more specialized care.
We provide a full range of testing to evaluate the health of your urinary tract, including measuring urine output, pelvic muscle strength, and nerve responsiveness to signals from the bladder and bowel.
Our doctors determine the treatment plan most likely to relieve your pain and improve your quality of life. This can include vaginal, laparoscopic, or robotic surgery; transurethral injections; minimally invasive slings for urinary incontinence; and medication.
Treatment for Gynecologic Cancers
Care for women with cancer is provided at Perlmutter Cancer Center at Winthrop Long Island Gynecologic Oncology Associates.
