Beena Jacob, MS, AGNP-C, CDCES
Ms. Jacob is an adult–gerontology nurse practitioner and certified diabetes care and education specialist. She specializes in providing integrative, individually tailored, evidence-based treatment to adults who have diabetes. She also provides medical management for people who are participating in our Medically Supervised Weight Management Program.
Emily Kobus, MS, AGNP-C, CDCES
Ms. Kobus is an adult–gerontology nurse practitioner and a certified diabetes care and education specialist. She specializes in treating adults who have diabetes and other various endocrinology-related concerns. She also provides medical management for people who are participating in our Medically Supervised Weight Management Program. Ms. Kobus looks to integrate her compassion and skills with evidence-based treatment methods with her patients. She takes a patient-centered approach tailored to their unique needs to help them achieve optimum health and quality of life.
Certified Diabetes Education Care Specialists
Melanie Teslik, RN, MS, BC-ADM, CDCES, CPHQ
Ms. Teslik is a registered nurse with a master’s degree in nursing education. She is a certified diabetes care and education specialist, board-certified in advanced diabetes management, and is a certified professional in healthcare quality.
Juan Batista, RDN, CDN, CDCES
Mr. Batista specializes in providing integrative, individualized, evidence-based care in a compassionate manner to adults who have been diagnosed with diabetes, lipid disorders, and obesity. He works with patients through individual consultations and weekly interactive group sessions coordinated through our Medically Supervised Weight Management Program.
Thomas Gatto Jr. MS, RD, CDN
Mr. Gatto is a registered dietitian and serves as a health educator for our Medically Supervised Weight Management Program. He specializes in the treatment of obesity and teaches patients behavioral skills to help lose weight and keep it off over the long term. He received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Long Island University Post.
Maria Kinirons, RD, CSOWM, CDN
Ms. Kinirons has spent the majority of her career in health education. A graduate of Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, and CW Post, she is passionate about helping people achieve a healthier lifestyle and weight. Having worked for WW, formerly Weight Watchers, in a variety of roles, from senior nutritionist to director of nutrition and science, Ms. Kinirons brings her experience, expertise, and compassion to her role as health educator in the Medically Supervised Weight Management Program.
Ivy Hicklin, RN
Ms. Hicklin is a registered nurse and part of the clinical care team. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Delaware State University. She has 14 years of experience taking care of patients and their families, both in the hospital as well as in the outpatient setting. She finds great passion in performing her duties as a nurse, and believes in the motto “service before self.”
Paul Krumholz, RN
Mr. Krumholz is a registered nurse who received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Stony Brook University and master’s degree in sports medicine from LIU Brooklyn. He is involved in patient education and assists with thyroid biopsies, administering injections, and performing lab draws. Before becoming a registered nurse, he was head athletic trainer at the College of Mount Saint Vincent and assistant athletic trainer with the single-A minor league affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater, Florida.
