About My Campaign
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, The Table Food Pantry in Brooklyn provided emergency food to 1,500 families each month.
As the pandemic took its financial toll on families, the need for food assistance skyrocketed and The Table aided 14,000 people in June 2020 alone—a staggering 700% increase in need.
Visitors to The Table remain much higher than before COVID-19 hit. Today, 5,000 people regularly depend on The Table to feed themselves and their families every month.
NYU Langone’s Family Health Centers in Brooklyn runs The Table. We bear witness to how deeply hunger affects families’ physical and mental health—especially in Sunset Park, a low-income community identified by the NYC Food Assistance Collaborative as an area with high food insecurity. While other food pantries were forced to close due to COVID-19, The Table kept its doors open, ensuring safety and increasing the numbers served through an outdoor grab-and-go model.
That’s why we invite all New Yorkers to join forces with us in supporting The Table Food Pantry this spring.
Every $25 gift covers food to feed two people each week. Every $50 gift feeds a family of four each week.
From now until April 30, you can make a gift of any amount to help reduce food insecurity for Brooklyn’s families. Donations are fully tax deductible.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of those experiencing great need.
