About My Campaign

Thank you for honoring Dr. Ruth Nass's legacy as a caring physician, prolific researcher, and cherished mentor. You may make an online gift through this page that will be directed by Ruth’s family to an area that pays tribute to her long career in neurology, psychiatry, pediatrics and beyond—her reach was felt far and wide across many clinical and research disciplines.

Ruth was a professor of neurology, psychiatry and pediatrics and was the Nancy Glickenhaus Pier Endowed Professor in Pediatric Neuropsychiatry at NYU Langone. Ruth was a wonderful child neurologist, extraordinarily gifted in caring for children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism, learning disabilities or ADHD. She was an accomplished scholar and academician who was an expert on typical and atypical brain development. Her colleagues found her to be generous with her time and knowledge, always willing to teach and give advice. We all benefited from her help on countless occasions. She loved to teach medical students and residents. Her patients loved her, and she was the first recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism Award from the Child Neurology Society. Ruth will be greatly missed.

Sincerely,

Steve Galetta, MD

John Wells, MD

Dr. Nass was the Nancy Glickenhaus Pier Endowed Professor in Pediatric Neuropsychiatry and the Director of the Pediatric Neurology residency training program at NYU. She was an invaluable member of our Department and somewhat uniquely, an integral member the Child Study Center faculty practice. Her expertise as a behavioral neurologist was a priceless addition to the care of our complex patients; her generous spirit, interpersonal warmth, and clinical wisdom was a wonderful resource for all who worked with her. We are grateful for Dr. Nass’s longtime contributions and friendship.

Glenn S. Hirsch, MD
