About My Campaign

Although the fight to end cancer is always personal, the employees at NYU Langone Health know that we are stronger when we battle it together. In the last six months, the doctors, nurses, and essential staff of the Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC) have demonstrated the awesome power of teamwork and collaboration, fearlessly moving the Center’s mission forward and caring for patients in the face of a global pandemic. We are grateful to them and thankful to all those who give, as we navigate this unprecedented crisis.

LACE UP AND JOIN THE RACE TO FIGHT CANCER

Whether you plan to race yourself or cheer on others from the (virtual) sidelines, you’re invited to join NYU Langone employees and our community of advocates for our first-ever, virtual run in support of the PCC from November 1-8, 2020. A gift at any level to support our runners is deeply appreciated and makes it possible for our clinicians, researchers, and faculty to continue their efforts to prevent, diagnose, treat, and cure cancer here at the PCC.

When so many of us must be apart, your support this year will enable them, and us, to reach the finish line together.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:

  • Sign Up. To sign up, simply email communityevents@nyulangone.org. Be sure to use that same email address to share fun photos you may have, so we can share them on our social media.
  • Set Your Goal. Everyone is welcome to join–whether you want to walk a mile or run a 10K. To participate, all you need to do is walk or run at whatever distance makes sense for you, any time from November 1-8. Whether you do it alone or as a family, remember that we’re all a part of the same team!
  • Help Fundraise. Make a donation or create your own page by clicking the buttons above. You can use this page to ask friends and family for support. PCC staff donate or raise at least $25 receives a free PCC t-shirt!
  • Spread Awareness. To grow our community, post your race results and photos on your own social media accounts—just include the hashtag #RUNFORPCC when you do!

MAKE IT HAPPEN AT NYU LANGONE AND PERLMUTTER CANCER CENTER

NYU Langone Health has a centuries-long track record of success in clinical care, research, and training. And in the past decade, we’ve undergone a strategic transformation enterprise-wide. We have tripled the size of our main campus, extended our reach in the community, and attracted thought leaders from around the globe. NYU Langone now ranks among the top major health systems in the country.

Our Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center, too, has accomplished tremendous improvements for the patients we serve in recent years. In the past 5 years alone, we have tripled the size of our clinical trials program and completed 6 practice-changing trials; built a brand-new, state-of-the-art Perlmutter Cancer Center site on our hospital campus in Sunset Park, Brooklyn; and earned prestigious designation as a National Cancer Institute (NCI) “Comprehensive Cancer Center,” an honor we share with only 50 other centers in the United States.
