About My Campaign
The Perinatal Bereavement Program at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island provides anticipatory guidance, emotional support and counseling services, as well as outpatient follow-up to parents experiencing the loss of their infant. Team members include registered nurses from Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, NICU and the Antepartum Units. They meet with families in the hospital and offer telephone follow-up after discharge.
The program goal is to support parents and families who have experienced the tragic loss of an infant. All donations are utilized to provide the following to parents and families –
- Access to a perinatal bereavement library containing educational and informational tools.
- The creation of individual memory boxes for parents which contain meaningful remembrance items, such as a wisp of hair, photos and footprints.
- Comfort Cubs, specially weighted therapeutic teddy bears intended for those who have experienced the loss of a child, provided to assist in easing significant trauma.
- Unique equipment to support parents suffering loss in labor and delivery.
The Perinatal Bereavement Program at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island relies on the philanthropic support of the community. Your generous gift to support and expand the program is meaningful and truly appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
