About My Campaign

Bek & I have pledged to support NYU Langone Health we are fundraising this summer and hope to raise atleast $500 for the #FitForTheFronline challenge. These heroes work tirelessly to ensure excellence in research for their most critically in need, education for their future leaders in medicine & care for their patients.

#FitForTheFrontLine is a national fitness challenge created to show appreciation for front line workers. Fitness activities can range from dedicating a walk around the block, cycling, running or even doing a meditation. Just use the hashtag #FitForTheFrontLine on social media and choose a local hospital to show your support.

As most of you know, NYU Langone is very special to me. I’ve been receiving care there for 5 years. In 2015 after battling severe migraines for most of my adult life, I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension; after undergoing MRI/MRV of my brain and a spinal tap (all performed at NYU). I began seeing my Neuro-Ophthalmologist Dr. Steven Galetta every 3-6 months. I am now in “remission” due to his excellent care and dedication to my health; and continue to see him every 6 months in order to maintain this health. Then in May 2019 I began experiencing numbness and tingling in my arms, neck and upper back. I knew exactly where to go. I went through a bunch of tests & procedures: MRIs, MRA, EMG, blood tests, CT Scan, Duplex Ultrasounds etc. All performed at NYU. My neurologist, Dr. Thawani, worked tirelessly for me. I was diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I began seeing my physical therapist Aileen at NYU. She was so knowledgable on my disorder and gave me one on one attention to ensure optimal results. I haven’t been able to see her since COVID but she has me on an app that provides me with my stretches and exercises for the week. I am on the road to feeling better and better every single day.

I am so blessed and forever grateful for these amazing humans for caring immensely about my health, physically & emotionally. Throughout the years, every doctor, physical therapist, nurse, medical assistant, receptionist, radiologist etc. I encountered was absolutely amazing! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

I’m asking if you could help me support this wonderful facility. Anything you can donate would be so greatly appreciated!!

Bek & I will be walking and posting with the hashtag #FitForTheFrontline follow us & help us reach our goal!! And a HUGE THANK YOU for your continued support & kind words throughout my health journey. So many of you have reached out, offered such beautiful words of encouragement and supported me. It it so very appreciated and fills me with so much love & gratitude. I consider myself very lucky to have each and every one of you!!

We’re Giving New Yorkers What They Expect—The Very Best

At NYU Langone, we never stop pushing ourselves. Our patients depend on it, our leadership expects it, and our people—doctors, students, scientists, and supporters—embrace it. It's what we've always done—but over the past decade, we've taken it to another level. NYU School of Medicine is ranked No. 2 out of 185 schools nationwide for research by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Medical Schools.” We’ve been hailed by publications including Harvard Business Review and Modern Healthcare as a model for the hospital of the 21st century. And, most importantly of all, our care is better than ever: For the past five years, we’ve received top rankings for overall patient safety and quality of care from Vizient, Inc., formerly the University HealthSystem Consortium.

Some might look at that progress and call it a mission accomplished. We call it a good start.

With Your Support, There’s So Much More We Can Do!

This is one of the most remarkable times in NYU Langone’s history, but our vision for the future holds even more promise. We're breaking down the barriers to high-quality healthcare by establishing more community-based clinics and practices. We're committing $750 million to accelerate research breakthroughs in cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other epidemics. And we’re supporting the next generation of leaders in medicine by providing full-tuition scholarships for all MD degree students, regardless of financial need.

When you give to the Excellence in Research, Education, and Care fund, you’re advancing our undeniable momentum—and helping us transform medicine for people in New York City and around the world. Your gift will help us meet the most critical needs and discover new avenues of research, education, and care.
