Please join KiDS of NYU Langone and the Hassenfeld Committee as we support Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital!
The holidays are a time of hope, giving, and community. These three simple words embody not only the spirit of the holidays, but the commitment of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital. This holiday season, KiDS of NYU Langone and the Hassenfeld Committee invite you to join us as we spread hope, giving, and community throughout New York City and beyond.
Your past support has made a meaningful difference for children and families who seek the very best care from Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and its Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care. Thank you!
To propel our work forward, now more than ever, the hospital’s faculty and staff need your generosity to serve children and families in their greatest time of need.
Please consider renewing your support!
What is the impact of your gift?
Every gift goes directly to making a difference in the lives of children and families at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital. A few examples of what your gift could provide include:
$100 – One Birthday Party Celebration
Every child deserves a party for his or her birthday, and for children in the hospital, a small celebration can go a long way toward providing a sense of normalcy and joy.
$250 – One Music Therapy Session at the Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders
Our music therapists custom design each and every session to help a child express his or her thoughts and feelings through improvisation, receptive listening, songwriting, lyric discussion, and musical imagery.
$500 – Give special thanks to our Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital frontline caregivers
These healthcare heroes put their lives on the line every day to treat our most vulnerable patients.
$1,000 – Sala Family to Family Program
Built based on research that emphasizes the unique benefit of peer to peer support, the Sala Family to Family Program is led by families, for families. Sala Family Advisors provide respite and support to families receiving care at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital and several outpatient centers. In the past year, over 4,000 patient families have connected with each other thanks to this invaluable program.
$2,500 – Sala Youth and Family Advisory Councils
Family and teen advisors from diverse backgrounds and diagnoses meet monthly during the Sala Family and Youth Advisory Councils meetings. The councils meet virtually to collaborate with hospital leaders, doctors, nurses, and other staff to consider 35 topics that have improved care at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital.
$5,000 – Seed Funding for a Pilot Research Study
Researchers, especially those new to the field, often rely on philanthropy to implement pilot research studies to test a proof of concept before they can publish results and secure larger grants. These pilot research projects are the first critical step toward new medical developments.
$15,000 – Critical Advancements for Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital Stem Cell Transplant Program
Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital is helping children battling cancer by launching a stem cell transplant program, also called a bone marrow transplant program. Your gift helps advance medical care and supportive services for children who require transplants—and their families.
