About My Campaign

We are raising funds because the cost of a medical education has risen substantially and today the average student graduates with a debt burden, often as high as $200,000 - $300,000. Scholarships are critical for ensuring that NYU continues to attract and retain the very best, most talented candidates—even those who would otherwise be unable to attend due to the prohibitive cost of a medical education. I hope you will join us in making a three year commitment toward a joint class gift totaling $30,000 to name a dorm room in the Jan and Marica Vilcek Hall. Together we can help ensure that deserving students have the opportunity to attend our alma mater for generations to come.

We using this special naming opportunity to celebrate our friend and classmate, Hernando Garzon, MD. Since graduation Hernando was worked tirelessly as an early champion of global health to provide emergency services to regions impacted by disasters.
