About My Campaign

Dear colleagues and friends,

As we close out 2021, I want to acknowledge and thank our faculty, staff, residents, and trainees in their tireless efforts during what has been perhaps the most demanding and stressful time of our lives. I also want to thank each of you for your unwavering support of the Department of Surgery. While we still are faced with uncertainty, we are steadfast in our pursuit of excellence. This year, with your help, the Department of Surgery achieved great successes, including our rise to #5 in the US News & World Report Rankings (up from #10) and #13 in the Doximity Residency Program Rankings (up from #23).

As we look towards the exciting future and the numerous strategic endeavors we have planned for the upcoming year, we continue to honor those who’ve helped build the foundation for our success, including the late Frank Cole Spencer, MD. The Frank Cole Spencer Fund was generously established to carry forth Dr. Spencer’s dedication to nurturing the careers of our brightest rising talent.

We hope that you will consider supporting the Frank Spencer Fund this year. Your gift will help provide educational and academic opportunities for residents and faculty alike, with the goal of inspiring new pathways that will benefit our Department, as well as the patients under our care. You may make your gift online here or send a check made payable to “NYU Grossman School of Medicine” with a memo note of “Frank Cole Spencer Fund” to: NYU Langone Health, Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, One Park Avenue, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10016.

I look forward to sharing more about the Department of Surgery’s clinical, research, and educational advancements.

Comments

I am excited for a very bright future of talented surgeons. I am excited for them to be trained in a technologically advanced environment that also recognizes/does not forget the beauty of humanity that has inspired them to be where they are today.
