The Class of 1967 Endowment Scholarship Fund
About My Campaign
The reunion was WOW. We convened after half a century. Those of us who were fortunate enough to attend enjoyed connecting with classmates we hardly knew as students and finding old friends. It was fabulous.
There was a walking tour in Greenwich Village, a Friday evening cocktail party with entertainment by the acapella group of medical students, The Keytones. Saturday we were honored at the scientific session. At lunch we toasted the class and each of us spoke eloquently and from the heart. I feel proud to be part of our accomplished class. The dinner and dance Saturday evening brought out the happiness. We continued to share reminiscences, concerns and thoughtfulness.
Thank you to all who attended. We missed those who declined, in some cases reluctantly for health reasons. Farhad Idjadi prepared a touching memorial picture of the twenty classmates who passed away.
The medical school tradition is for the 50th reunion class to collect donations to permanently endow a class scholarship fund by raising $100,000 within five years. The committee and I, along with others, have committed more than $60,000 towards this effort. I hope you will give what you can to honor 1967 going forward and support the next generation of NYU graduates. I am delighted to say that since we have already raised over $60,000, we will be honored with a Class of 1967 room naming in Vilcek Hall.
If you are interested in making a leadership pledge or have any questions about making a gift, please contact Hillary Griffin in the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs at Hillary.Griffin@nyumc.org or 212-404-3668.
Stay healthy and prepare for the 55th reunion.
All best wishes,
Ruth Cohen M.D.
