NYU Friendly Telephone Calls Program

As part of our larger initiatives to ensure the best possible care for our older patients, the NYU Friendly Telephone Calls program has provided hundreds of patients with weekly conversations, enhancing their lives, encouraging them to get the medical care they need, and helping volunteers find meaning as well. As one volunteer shared, “We had a wonderful long chat, and [the patient] was very grateful we are doing this program.”

Your gift will support us as we help our older patients in the community stay connected and provide an outlet for social support. As we expand the program to give our medical students the opportunity to form bonds with older adults and learn more about the issues facing older patients, we are grateful for your generosity.
