About Me
I grew up surrounded by strong female role models who inspired in me the drive to help empower women. As an obstetrician–gynecologist, I believe every woman deserves to have a solid understanding of how her body works and the tools to make educated choices about her healthcare. I always take into account a woman’s overall health and lifestyle to determine treatments that are in line with her goals.
I treat women of all ages, from adolescence to the postmenopausal years. I also offer family-planning services and contraceptive counseling and management. I perform many in-office procedures, including the treatment of cervical dysplasia as well as hysteroscopy to diagnose and manage abnormal bleeding. I use minimally invasive techniques during surgery to remove ovarian cysts, fallopian tubes, ovaries, or the uterus. These procedures, most often performed to treat pelvic pain or abnormal uterine bleeding, result in quicker recovery times and less postsurgical discomfort than traditional surgical techniques.
As a researcher, I am involved in projects to highlight mental health concerns during the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, specifically regarding postpartum depression and anxiety. I am also working on a project that underscores the changes and challenges in medical education during the pandemic.
I have received teaching awards from both medical students and residents and remain committed to medical education. My role as a medical educator is of the utmost importance to me, and I serve as the medical student clerkship co-director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone.
