I’ve always had an interest in science and a desire to understand and help people. During medical school, I became fascinated with how the mind works. I found neuroscience incredibly exciting and decided to pursue a career in psychiatry. I chose to specialize in child and adolescent psychiatry because it provides the opportunity to not only heal the patient, but to also help the family as a whole.
I see mostly children and adolescents with a variety of conditions, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, anxiety, autism, and oppositional defiance disorder.
I am committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to all my patients. I view my relationship with my patients and their families as a partnership, and we work together as a team towards optimal mental health.
I am involved in medical education–based research that translates and integrates the known neuroscience of psychiatric disorders into simplified and practical ways of teaching for medical students, residents, and families. Additionally, I am proud to be recognized as a fellow by the Association of Academic Psychiatry.
