About Me

My parents were endlessly supportive in helping me pursue medicine as a challenging professional career. From high school to medical school, I worked as a lifeguard, where I first had the opportunity to save people’s lives. It was extremely rewarding. When I wasn’t working as a lifeguard, I was in our basement working with my hands using wood, metal, and plastic. I knew that medicine, and in particular surgery, would allow me to use both my hands and my scholarly aptitude.

Presently, I am a surgeon at Level 1 Trauma Centers. In addition to trauma surgery, I am also trained in general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and open vascular surgery.

I have been a surgeon for nearly 30 years. I treat patients with a broad spectrum of medical and surgical conditions, including simple or complex wounds, arterial and venous insufficiency vascular conditions, and general surgery conditions requiring either open or laparoscopic approaches.

I believe surgery should be a last resort if other modalities are not available or have been exhausted. I am an active Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor as well as an Advanced Trauma Operative Management instructor. I have co-authored and published five peer-reviewed articles and I am actively involved in research and teaching surgical residents and medical students.
