NYU Langone Provider

Nicholas Berbari, MD

NYU Langone Provider
  • Specialty: Internal Medicine
  • Treats: Adults
  • Language: English

I strive to treat my patients as I would like to be treated. I love the field of internal medicine because it gives me the opportunity to meet interesting people every day and deliver comprehensive, top-notch care to all my patients.

As an internal medicine specialist I treat people for a myriad of diseases, including hypertension, diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders, infectious diseases, cardiovascular disorders, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and gastrointestinal issues. I enjoy providing my patients with care. My favorite aspect of internal medicine is preventive care, whether it’s vaccinations and cancer screening or risk factor modification with weight management and smoking cessation. I treat patients of all ages, from 16 to more than 100 years of age.

I believe that a healthy lifestyle is the cornerstone of preventive internal medicine, including proper nutrition, regular activity and exercise, mindfulness, and wellbeing. I conduct regular follow-up visits and I strive to deliver comprehensive, quality patient care.

I enjoy educating the next generation of doctors, from medical students to internal medicine residents. At NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, we teach physicians to stay up-to-date with the most current literature and internal medicine management and treatments. I work with internal medicine residents and medical students on research projects and teach at the American College of Physicians on maintaining certification.
